Ekstrak Insektisida Sediaan Dysoxylum Acutangulum Miq. (Meliaceae) Terhadap Ulat Kubis Crocidolomia Binotalis Zeller
Insecticidal activity of Dysoxylum acutangulum preparations were evaluated against second- instar larvae of Crocidolomia binotalis using leaf residual method in laboratory. Test larvae were fed extract-treated broccoli leaves for 2 days, then were presented with untreated leaves and observed until they reached fourth-instar stage. The results showed that ethyl acetate fraction, fraction-25, and partially-purified fraction-25 of ethanol extract of D. acutangulum barks possessed strong insecticidal activity with growth inhibitory effect. The median lethal consentrations (LC50s) of the three fractions against C. binotalis larvae were 45.9 ppm, 7.97 ppm, and 3.93 ppm, respectively. In other words, the activity of the fraction increased as it was purified further. Partially-purified fraction-25 was about three times less active than was azadirachtin (LC50 1.13 ppm), the primary insecticidal compound from the neem tree (Azadirachta indica) which was included in this test as a positive control. Given its potential, further studies are needed to identify insecticidal compounds in D. acutangulum extract.
