Preferensi Dan Respons Fungsional Chelisoches Morio Terhadap Larva Brontispa Longissima Di Laboratorium Balai Proteksi Tanaman Perkebunan Pontianak
Brontispa longissima (Coleoptera : Chrysomelidae) is one of the main pests of coconut that must be controlled. Up to now, the recomended pest control technique is biological control using predators. One of B. longissima predators is Chelisoches morio (Dermaptera : Chelisochidae). The objectives of this study were to evaluate the preference of C. morio toward larvae instars of B. longissima and to test their functional response. The research was conducted with complete random design, in Laboratory of Center for Plantation Crops Protection, Pontianak. The preference test was conducted with 4 treatments and 4 repetitions and was analysed by anova,. The functional response test was conducted with 5 treatments and 4 repetitions and was analysed by linear regression. The result showed that the highest preference of C. morio was on first instar of B. longissima larvae (100%) while the lowest one was on fourth instar larvae (22,5%). The functional response test indicated that the functional response of C. morio was Holling type II {Ne = 0,820Nt/(1+0,024Nt)}. Nevertheless, the functional response was was categorized as weak due to the low R value (0,167).
